The International Course in Primatology and Wildlife Research is a cross-campus graduate program of Kyoto University that focuses on the study of non-human primates and other wild animals to promote their conservation, health and welfare, and to advance our understanding of wildlife and human nature. Graduate students enroll in the program at either the master's or doctoral level, and are based at the Institute for the Evolutionary Origins of Human Behavior (EHUB; Inuyama), Institute for the Future of Human Society (IFOHS; Kyoto), Wildlife Research Center (WRC; Kyoto), Center for Primate Field Studies (PRIFS; Kyoto), and Kyoto University Museum (Kyoto), depending on the affiliation of their faculty supervisors.
In addition to conducting research, master's students are required to complete a set of courses and training programs as part of the curriculum. Students who have successfully completed their master's degrees typically progress to the doctoral stage of the program.
