CICASP graduate student, Ms. Sofi Bernstein, belongs to the section of cognition and learning and will be endeavoring to construct a complete vocal repertoire of the Tibetan macaque inhabiting China. Before she hops off to the field to conduct this research, we've brought her on to the show to fill in for Chris Martin, who recently left Japan to assume a position in the United States (more on that in another venue).
While interning with us, Sofi will be helping to produce and co-host two or three podcasts using archived interviews that Chris and I conducted in recent years - the first with Kyoto University Wildlife Research Center's professor Dr. Miho Inoue-Murayama is online now here - and will have a big role in an upcoming series of podcasts focusing on this year's annual meeting of the Japan Society for Animal Psychology held between July 20-22.
Before everyone gets upset and demands she be instated as a permanent member of the program, as we here at The PrimateCast expect will happen after hearing her on air, note that she'll be busy with fieldwork in the mountains of China starting in August. But, we may here more from Sofi in the future when she returns to Japan, so stay tuned to The PrimateCast.
