Join Drs. Andrew MacIntosh and Chris Martin as they delve into the world of primatological science with interviews, segments, and news and views from around CICASP,the PRI, WRC, and Kyoto University on CICASP's very own podcast "The PrimateCast". Click here to learn more about the podcast and what it has in store.
The idea behind The PrimateCast is simple: to provide a repository of interviews with researchers in the field and beyond, and to provide other information related to the world of primatology. As a world class research institution, the Primate Research Institute and its core of researchers attracts visiting scientists and students from all over the world. We aim to take advantage of this fact and chat with such visitors, along with members of the PRI, to discuss what they do, how they got there, and where they're going.
The podcast aunches with the CICASP website, and will do so in its rawest form. We launch with the first 3 podcasts in the series: (1) a primer to The PrimateCast in which Chris and Andrew discuss what they hope to accomplish with the program; (2) an interview with the former director of PRI and current director of CICASP, Dr. Tetsuro Matsuzawa, in which he discusses his research within the context of the origin and evolution of Japanese primatology in general; and (3) an interview with CICASP faculty members Drs. Ikuma Adachi, David Hill, and Fred Bercovitch, in which we discuss the CICASP program, what prospective students can expect, as well as their research interests.
In the future, we hope to add various other features to the podcast to supplement its core of interviews, including news and views from the world of primatology, so stay tuned to The PrimateCast. We are currently hosted here on the CICASP page, but you can look for us on iTunes in the very near future. In addition, visit our social media outlets at Facebook and Twitter (@theprimatecast).
