Hello everyone and welcome back to The PrimateCast! Really excited to welcome back to the podcast our very own Dr. Chris Martin. Chris is currently Research Scientist at Indianapolis Zoo where he runs cognitive tasks on touch panels with orangutans to advance both science and public understanding of animal behavior, cognition and conservation, but he's back in Inuyama temporarily and was ready to get back to the studio.
For anyone who may not know or remember, Chris is one of the founders of The PrimateCast but left the Primate Research Institute in 2014 after 5 years of graduate study and 2 years of postdoctoral work on the Ai Project under the supervision of Dr. Tetsuro Matsuzawa, and of course 2 years well spent right here with the podcast. In the interview, we talk about why he's back in Japan, and what he's been up to since leaving PRI to take a research position at Indianapolis Zoo's International Orangutan Center.
For a fun way to spend a few minutes and learn more about the work Chris is getting up to at Indy Zoo, check out this YouTube video.
