Career Talks by PRI Alumnae

June 3rd 2025

In this special CICASP Sci Com Seminar, we welcomed Drs. Rafaela Sayuri Takeshita (Kent State University, USA) and Himani Nautiyal (Howard University, USA/Himalayan Langur Project), both of whom are alumnae of the Primate Research Institute (predecessor to the Center for the Evolutionary Origins of Human Behavior). In addition to sharing their ongoing projects on behavioral endocrinology (Dr. Takeshita) and conservation ecology (Dr. Nautiyal), they discussed their academic and professional trajectories leading to, during, and after graduate school, offering valuable career advice to our current graduate students and other early-career researchers.

Those of us on Inuyama Campus were also excited to reconnect with our old colleagues (Sayuri was a Research Associate and Himani worked as a Teaching Assistant in CICASP, back in the day) and inspired by their determination, perseverance, and creativity to make the world a better place through science.
