The PrimateCast rolled out its mobile podcasting unit once again to cover the meetings of the International Primatological Society held between August 11-16, 2014. The theme of this year's congress, which was held at the Melia Hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam, was 'meeting the challenges of conserving primate diversity'.

In the fourth installment of this series, we chat with five notable researchers about topics ranging from ethnoprimatology to tool-using monkeys to sexual selection. In the first interview, Dr. Agustin Fuentes talks about ethnoprimatology - a sub-field within primatology that examines primate behavioral ecology within the context of interactions with humans. We then hear from Dr. Cheryl Knott about her work into the behavioral ecology and physiology of Bornean orangutans. During the interview, Dr. Knott illustrates the benefits of integrating an active field program with laboratory work on primate physiology and nutritional ecology. The third interview involves Dr. Elisabetta Visalberghi discussing the cognitive capacities and behavioral ecology of capuchin monkeys in Brazil, ending with their recent outreach activities and a strong message for conservation. We then talk to Dr. James Higham about primate communication and its role in evolutionary ecology and speciation. Finally, Dr. Joanna Setchell tells us about her work involving the role of olfaction in primate, particularly mandrill, sexual signalling.
